I love putting together looks that are either inspired by a decade or iconic figures in my life. The wide leg pants with the kangol gave me all of the 70's vibes! Kowtow is an amazing New Zealand brand. The label is committed to using fair trade certified organic cotton, Global Organic Textile Standard approved dyes, mindful manufacturing with fair working conditions, ethically sourced trims and sustainable packaging. Trove is a brand that I'm fairly new to - they partner directly with global artisans - creating jobs and celebrating culture. And in all transparency - I love that the owner doesn't just work with melanin communities but also uses WOC in their branding and marketing. It's such an important part of representation - making sure that WOC aren't just seen as laborers!
Subtle Autumn Layers
Sweater- Thrifted Betsy Johnson
Grey Dress- Eileen Fisher
Shades- S.F. market
Sometimes I have such a challenge when the weather transitions. But what I've been finding lately, is a love for knee high socks alongside the perfect dress that will show a little bit of skin (wink wink). I love to layer and I'm quite surprised at myself when I can layer and keep all solid colors - clearly looking like RAIDER NATION in this one. My fashion sensibility in this New York whether has certainly been a journey.
